This is the perfect gift set to give to someone who has just begun taking an interest in making their own bread. It contains everything needed to get started. A practical jug to measure the water, some Cornish sea salt which I love because sea salt contains lots of trace minerals and three sachets of organic yeast that give a slightly longer, slower rise for a really flavoursome loaf. I’ve chosen a fine Italian 00 Soffiata flour because it is able to develop quickly and has a soft, fine, pillowy texture; it’s easy to work with to make your first loaf. The loaf pan is a heavy-duty traditional loaf pan with a double non-stick coating, with a twenty-year guarantee. The substantial tin gives you a better crust because it holds the heat so well. Last but not least, a traditional bowl made by Mason Cash, who have been making bowls since the 1880s, which is simply a joy to use.
